Reply:If you format and install a fresh copy of XP, there is no reason to restore
Reply:Formatting means wiping everything in your HDD so you can never do a System restore if your computer is blank like a blank piece of paper. You got to reinstall your OS or Install a genuine copy of XP then you have to activate.
