I bought this 120gb Maxtor hard disk (external) and PC-Cillin (2008) had detected a virus (which is not tru) and has deleted the autorun.inf and Autorun.exe off of the hard drive along with many other important files so how can i fix it without formating??
My maxtor 120gb HDD is screwed up by pc cillin can i fix it??
The most reliable way is to open up the case, remove the hard drive from inside, and plug it into the IDE cable inside your computer. From there you can use any of a number of disk utilities to fix errors on the disk, as well as recover any important data.
