LCD defect is still covered by the warranty?

A white line appears on the LCD of my Presario V3431. I was hoping for a free repair since I bought it just 9 months ago. Where will I turn to for the repair?

You can go to the store where you bought it. Usually, they have a record and a warranty agreement with their supplier, just like we do with them (store). Since, it's just 9months old, you can return that (should be) free of charge. Warranty usually lasts a year, unless agreed otherwise.

The store you purchased it from should be the ones sending it to the repair centre for you. They should also give you a loan phone to use in the mean time.

with the free repair, yes lcd defects are covered under warranty unless the defect was a result of physical or liquid damge. It doesnt sound like it was physically damaged so I doubt you'll be charged, however if it was your looking at paying anywhere between $90 and $150 for them to replace the LCD.

Hope this helps, all the best!
